Queensland Governor a silent collaborator in judicial misconduct cover-up

Jennifer Nash | 12.07.2009 19:06 | Education | Health | Repression | World

This article is about child maltreatment, judicial abuse, the perversion of the course of justice and a major political cover up at the highest level, including the Queensland Governor and involving her brother, Robert Wensley QC and others.

Brisbane, Australia - Queensland Governor, Penelope Wensley, doggedly continues stone walling in relation to very serious and corroborated judicial corruption allegations against her brother, Robert Wensley QC, a former judge in Queensland Anti Discrimination Tribunal and three other judges.

Mr Wensley presided over a civil rights complaint about severe school bullying and education discrimination, lodged by Brisbane mother, Jennifer Nash, on behalf of her unrepresented son.

Ms Nash has persistently claimed over a very long period of time the judges were abusive and biased and courtroom recordings and transcripts were severely edited in order to pervert the course.

“Government stacking the courts with political favourites is the main evil in the administration of justice in Australia” retired Queensland Supreme Court Judge, Geoff Davies QC.

Governor Wensley resolutely refuses to acknowledge and act on these claims and has given the family the silent treatment ever since she became Governor a year ago.

"When courts are corrupted by greed or political expediency, the scales of justice are tipped, and ordinary people suffer. Judicial corruption means the voice of the innocent goes unheard, while the guilty act with impunity" Huguette Labelle, Chair of Transparency International.

The consistent and systemic failure to act, the silent collaboration in obstructing justice and preventing attention by those in power is totally unacceptable and very undemocratic and anti-civic.

Transparency International Australia’s large bureaucracy unfortunately only beats around the bush, claiming it has no mandate to investigate public sector corruption in Australia.

The Parliamentary Crime and Misconduct Committee (PCMC) has refused to investigate Ms Nash’s judicial misconduct complaint without explanation.

A legislative framework that allows decisions on complaints concerning official misconduct and corruption to be made on a political basis is "totally and utterly wrong. I would have very grave concerns about that. I don’t agree with that at all. The committee in Western Australia doesn’t withhold anything” Ray Halligan, PCMC (WA).

His comments follow the Queensland PCMC’s decision to again sweep the shameful Heiner Affair, aka Shredder gate under the carpet. Despite three (non-Labor party) members on the committee actually recommending it is finally investigated by the PCMC.

Due to lack of press freedom Ms Nash’s case has never been reported in Australia.
