Foie Gras out of Bath! - Contact the sellers!

Matt Banning | 10.07.2009 07:33 | Animal Liberation

Bath Activist Network needs YOUR help to force foie gras out of Bath, contact the sellers - (politley) at -

Minibar (owned by Alexander Grant)
1 John St
Bath, BA1 2JL
01225 333323

After a year and a half of campaigning, and suceeding in temporarily making Bath foie gras free, an isolated resteraunt (Minibar) is refusing to take the disgusting 'delicay' off the menu.

Bath Activist Network are half way through a week of continuous protest against the resteraunt, which has responded with typical violence and intimidation (including the owner driving into a protest with his 4x4, knocking an activist to the floor).

The resteraunt has also recieved enthusiastic support from the Bath plod who has made many inept attempts to stifle protest and protect 'buisness as usual'.

Now we need your help - please politley contact the resteraunt to let them know what you think of their continued sale of Foie gras at the following address

-
Minibar
1 John St
Bath, BA1 2JL
01225 333323

Alexander Grant is the owner of the resteraunt.

Foie gras is the liver of ducks and geese force fed through a metal tube directly into their stomachs several times a day until their liver has swollen to up to 10 times its natural size. The bird is confined in battery conditions, and will be unable to walk and riddled with disease by the time it is killed -

This is not a delicacy, this is barbarity!

Hein van Vorstenbosch, who was formerly Jane Seymour's personal chef, has opened his new restaurant, Minibar, in Bath. It is located in John Street, in the premises of the former Cafe Fromage, with views over Queen Square. The menu is based on modern tapas, with a selection of dishes designed to be shared.

Ha Ha - that script from your fone call is great - the more the merrier!

To give a bit of feed back to the above comment - the bloke who is named as the owner in the above comment has sold the place, and it is now managed/owned by a few people. The head of the operation is Alexander Grant, but money/support etc comes in from Jane Seymour (we think), the actress who lives just outside of Bath, and a short, pugnatious french man who we don't know the name of, but is constantly trying to start fights/run activists over!

Keep the calls coming in folks!

Hi
Thanks for that.

I just rang the owner, and he seems ready to crack, so don't know how many more demos we will need (keep the calls coming in though!), but we will be there tonite and tomorrow nite from 7-9 (unless FG comes off the menu). If you want to get involved, the best thing to do is email us at  bathactivistnet@yahoo.co.uk and we can keep you informed of all future demos.

Cheers
