Larocca restaurant shuts.

Larocca was an Italian restaurant set out in the Clarence dock area of Leeds. Since it's inception it had a policy of serving foie gras in it's restaurant. Despite questions being asked on many occasions this restaurant declined to justify the serving of foie gras. Content to believe that the fact they were able to do so was enough justification.
There are probably many reasons why this £2.5 million restaurant went bust, one would doubtless be the current economic climate, the increased cost of importing ingredients banned from production in the UK, and also an increased boycott of restaurants serving foie gras.
But let us be quite clear, the unacceptable use of products borne from brutalising ducks and geese will always be fought.
We will find out where you are.

I am of the opinion that standing outside insulting and screaming at people is what this country is all about.

To look past over the last 2 years, local campaigners (both legal and otherwise) have had a relentless campaign against countless firms who served the dish - consisting of regular demonstrations, national support and complaint, public boycott and back-up from unknown ALF activists.
It is not just a case of Larocca closing down, but an amazing victory which should inspire other local activist groups and show what can be achieved; the fact that the UK's 4th biggest city and one of the biggest growing hot-spots for the catering industry no longer has a single business serving up foie gras.
