Despite massive objections by local residents and a public enquiry Starbucks have successfully appealed the enforcement notice served earlier this year. They opened up last year without planning permission in an area of Brighton with a unique character.
Demonstrators have held weekly protests every Saturday for the last year and are said to be angry at what they see as a failure by the council to effectively fight the appeal launched by Starbucks.
There are now 8 Starbucks in Brighton and protesters have vowed to step up the campaign against them and will target all of their Brighton Branches for future demonstrations.
Join them in St. James Street. this Saturday from 12 am to 2pm
