Freedom for russian antifascists

In Russia there is the highest amount of fascist murders in Europe. Antifascists are permanently at risk to become victim of a fascist assault. E.g. Alexander Rjuchin, who was killed bei neo-nazis on April 16th 2006, or the journalist Anastasia Baburova and the lawyer Stanislaw Markelow, both avowed antifascists, who were shot in January 2009.

Furthermore there was much repression against antifascists in the last months. Activists were accused of mayhem and civil disorder. The accuses were invented and evidence was distorted. The government defamed the activists as “extremists” and blames them of “hooliganism”, while fascists get played down as “patriots”. It is obvious that the state wants to abolish alternative structures and so alternative people become the state's victim.

On April 21st 2009 Aleksej “Schkobar” Olesinov from Moskow was sent to prison for one year because of an alleged brawl with security men in a nightclub in 2008. This “brawl” never happened. That is proved by a video recording. On May 8th 2009 Akleksej Bitschin from St. Petersburg were sent to prison for 5 years, because he had clashed with 2 fascists in June 2008. One of them was a cop.
May 14th 2009 – Artur Balejew is sent to prison for 4 years, because he defended himself, when he an his friend were attacked by a group of neonazis in November 2008.
Also Artjom Loskutov waits for his adjudgment. He is an anarchist artist from Novosibirsk. In May 2009 officers from the anti-extremism center foisted drugs on him. Hereupon Artjom was arrested.

Those are just a few examples for activist who are victims of state violence. No human should be persecuted because of his criticism of the state and his struggle against fascism.
