Defend Yunus Bakhsh Campaign June 2009

A reply to UNISON

What Unison says:

Dear Colleague
Supporters of Yunus Bakhsh, an expelled Unison member, have made untrue and unfounded allegations against UNISON over a long period following the commencement of an investigation into alleged breaches of UNISON’s rules by the member.

The case against the expelled member has now been concluded following a lengthy and extensive disciplinary procedure. 42 charges against the member were upheld. The charges included misappropriation of UNISON monies and resources and breaches of the political fund rules.

A full and thorough investigation has also been undertaken into allegations by the expelled member that information had been passed to the BNP about the action against him and that a UNISON source provided information to the BNP about anti BNP activity. The investigation found there to be no substance to these allegations. The link below provides more information in relation to this matter.

This case has been about holding to account a UNISON representative who has breached the rules of the union and much of the publicity generated by the expelled member and his supporters has been misleading and false.
