Transnational Demonstration in Calais (updates 1pm)

Today people demonstrate in the Ferry Port of Calais for Freedom of Movement (see http://london.noborders.org.uk/calais2009 )
9am : About 500 people left the noborder camp in Calais around 9am to march towards the ferry port of Calais. After 20 Minutes they got stopped by CRS (riot police) to be checked and searched. Many flags and scarfs were seized.
12 noon: After many more stops they finally reached the lighthouse in the old harbour to meet another 500 protesters from other initiatives and unions.
2pm: The demonstration finished the circle they were marching with no incidents reported.
3.30pm the demonstraton has finished. The march followed the route that the police wanted, however, and not the route the campers had initially prepared. Police was heavily monitoring the march.
