In the weekend of july 4th we declare a war on cars. In this weekend there will be a bike festival in Amsterdam. On different locations events, workshops, info stands, fun & games, parties, and direct actions to block and frustrate the traffic will be held. Cars lead to pollution, climate change, deaths and injuries. They are a nuisance, and are dominating the public space.Where the public space is not designed to facilitate the ever consuming shopping frenzy and industry it is designed to please fossil-fuel-traffic.

This is the no car weekend same as it is every year in Amsterdam, you are not going to be blocking any cars because there will not be any to block. Please don't try and claim credit for an initiative of the local council that has been happening every year for nine years. Why not choose some cities that are not bike friendly.

Car free weekend happens every year in Amsterdam on the first week of July. I am not sure which cars you will be blocking because there will not be any. The roads are closed by the Polite early in the morning and remain closed until late Sunday night.

Cheers
