At least five arrests of BNP supporters inciting racial hatred and violence were made outside the New Kimberley Hotel in Blackpool as the neo-Nazi party celebrated its two MEP seats - which were accrued despite a fall in the BNP vote.

For a change, there was also a sizeable turnout from the media with two satellite vehicles - one of which was from ITN - and television reporters from both BBC Northwest and Granada.

A 16-year-old boy and three men have been arrested on suspicion of inciting racial hatred during protests against the British National Party (BNP).

Police said they believe those arrested were not part of the protest, which had been peaceful.

Up to 80 members of Unite Against Fascism gathered outside the New Kimberley Hotel during the BNP conference in Blackpool.

The boy and the three men, aged 21, 22 and 41 are being held in custody. "

It isn't renowned for its cleanliness.

Apparently, Environmental Health were alerted to a 'significant vermin situation' over the weekend but their protective clothing 'did not offer adequate protection from the infestation' and 'posed a serious danger to the health of Environmental Health Officers'. Tourists have been advised to 'seek alternative accommodation not closer than a barge pole length from the New Kimberley Hotel.

A 21-year-old man from Wirral has been charged with racially aggravated harassment and was due to appear before Blackpool Magistrates today.
Three other people have been charged with the same offence and will appear before magistrates on July 3.

Well there was certainly plenty of shit inside the Hotel. Agreed, it's not some where you'd stay unless you really welcomed the idea of puking and shitting flames simultaneously. But when you're about as welcome as a turd in a swimming pool like these fuckers you can't afford to be to choosy about your accommodation.

Officers investigated after guests complained about diarrhoea and vomiting while staying at The New Kimberley Hotel, Blackpool. They were also told of guests being given uncooked food and meat which smelt bad. Officials found the kitchen of the 50-bedroom hotel on South Promenade was filthy and discovered food which was out-of-date and in danger of cross-contamination from bacteria.

Peter Metcalf, 45, of Wyredale Road, St Annes, the hotel's former-leaseholder, admitted nine offences of breaching food hygiene safety rules and was found guilty of 11 similar offences after a trial. He was fined £1,000 with £500 costs and ordered to pay the £15 victims' surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Victoria Cartmell, prosecuting for Blackpool Council, said there were complaints in 2006 about the hotel.

Health officers first visited the hotel in July 2006 and Metcalf was given numerous chances to clean the kitchen. Officers again visited on August 14 last year and found the kitchen was filthy. Ceilings, walls, sockets, surfaces, pipes, floors, a cooker, fryer and freezer were greasy and dirty and food debris was scattered around. Black mould was on chopping boards, freezer seals and an ice-making machine. A wash basin was dirty and there were no paper towels.

Ms Cartmell said: "Double cream in the fridge was past its use-by date. Containers of ice-cream were stored next to boxes of raw bacon which could have caused cross-contamination of bacteria."

hmmmmmmm, interesting attempt at some sort of trimeter here, although in terms of scansion, I find it uneven and incredibly bumpy. I take issue, also, with the 'commie' suddenly 'appearing' like that. I mean, is he a magical character, or a jack-in-the-box? Put simply, 'what is your motivation here' ?
