The report "USA: Less than lethal?" is being published as the number of people who died after being struck by Tasers in the USA reached 334 between 2001 and August 2008.
This calls for a demonstration against police brutality. We can't let this sort of blatant authoritarian cruelty and abuse of human rights slip past our noses. The national press have picked it up, now we need to start a local campaign against the use of tasers and for the suspension and sacking of these thugs. The government of this country has armed and sanctioned a brutal gang which imposes its authority whenever it feels like it, whether given the slightest excuse or not. The police need to be stopped and soon, they need to be reigned in and reminded that they are servants of the people, not arbitrators of divine justice. Pigs.
its so important to show solidarity with strangers when you witness cops being wankers, even if you don't want to get involved, just filming the event can provide good evidence.
A Demonstration against the Notts Police Authority meeting has been called to demend that the Police are Accountable for their actions, It was originally to protest against the £700,000 bill for Operation Aeroscope on April 13 , 114 people were arrested for planning a protest, but so far no one has been charged with any offence. The protest will be expended to included this matter. The protest is on June 24th at 9.30am at County Hall, Trent Bridge,Nottingham.
