BNP blocked in Bath

The Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution had invited the BNP to a European election hustings.

The green and labour candidates (followed in the end by most of the rest of the pack) had refused to share a platform with Nazis .


A lively anti fascist demo took place outside

A few of the anti fascist protesters started blocking the entrance to the venue asking people not to enter.

At approx 7pm a few fine examples of the master race (aka the BNP) tried to get into the building at which point the “door blockers” numbers were swelled by anti fascists of various political hues (mainly anarchists, but also socialists and greens) and 3 lines of people were formed to prevent the BNP from entering.

The BNP thugs unsuccessfully tried to force their way in, then appealed to the cops to do their dirty work, then ended up hiding behind appeals to democracy and their “right” to free speech.

This was shown up in comic fashion when Roly-poly-goaty-beardy-fascist, responded to a door blocker's shout of “the only good Nazi is a dead one!” with a pitiful whine to the cops of “he's threatening to kill me” before a response from another door blocker pointing out that the moron had just publicly outed himself as a “Nazi” wiped the smile of face.

A stand off ensued for approx an hour and a half before Bath police forcefully removed the door blockers and escorted the Nazis into the, virtually empty, building.

I've never actually heard the BNP go on about the master race before.

Anyway, if the rising feels of the british public are continually ignored through violence and intimidation you are just going to end up stirring things to a boiling point. People like you will never be able force people what to think.

Lets get the reporting correct. There were about 30 or so 'anti-fascists' - all about 16 - 17 years old, other than a couple of dotty old women. I went expecting a real force to be reckoned with - and found a few dozen students, who had no idea of politics, or what communism, or Britain as an Islamic state would really mean, apparently killing time in the wait for the pubs to open. Intimidating or threatening it was not. There were no 'ordinary' members of the public protesting, and other than one asian lad, no black or ethnic people. It was truly laughable. I had expected better from you, and in a way felt let down. The meeting eventually went ahead chaired by an elderly gent, saying that he had fought in the war so that meetings like this could go ahead - democracy in action. The BNP with its 'anti-fascist' opposition comprising a load of bored, ignorant kids!! Stopping the BNP will be like holding back the red sea. Until the next time losers!

I agree with Mike. In fact the whole of the country does and will not be subjected to forced mind control from a small minority of politically correct antifash. You can't FORCE people to think what you want them to think whilst sweeping people's concerns under the carpet with your hands over your ears shouting "racist". The more you try to disrupt and intimidate and ignore people's concerns, the more people will flock to the BNP.

I'd say the majority 100 protestors against the minority (paltry) 40 people inside the hall would show that the bnps racist, fascist and hateful politics are not welcomed by a majority. The holocaust-denying scumbag leader of the hypocritical bnp nazis are not welcome in any of our cities.

The amusing thing here is that 'Nazi Mike's' post is missing (been removed), so the ramblings of one (A)ntifa make no sense to newcomers. You really must keep up if you want people to be completely in the dark as to the censorship going on here!

Still, I would recommend those still in the dark to check out the video link on the BBC site as to the numbers at the Bath protest. Sure, there were about 100 people there in the throng, but take away the candidates, their associates, the BNP and their supporters, and various bemused onlookers, and it is obvious that there are only about 30-40 protesters.

Hmmm, 30 or so students out of a University of..how many? Or for that matter 30 out of a city of...how many?

The truth is that I respect, in some way, the actions of the protesters. In a world where few - especially the young - care about anything, it is good to see young people stand up for their, albeit, misguided beliefs. The sad thing is, such is their lack of awareness of the situation, that these 'useful idiots' are merely used as pawns by more sinister forces at work.

Nevertheless, roll on June 4th!
