Justice For Pakistani Students Arrested under Terrorism Laws

Justice for the North West Ten | 18.05.2009 02:28 | Migration | Repression | Terror War | Birmingham

Planning meeting to setup the local chapter of the national campaign against the deportation of 12 Pakistani students arrested under terror laws. Failing to present any incriminating evidence against them the government has decided to deport them.

No to injustice !
No to injustice !

Please circulate this widely -

As you are aware last month some 12 Pakistani students were arrested under anti-terror laws. Various ministers including the Prime Minister stated how a very serious terror plot was foiled as a result of these arrests. Since then no evidence was found of any terror plot and the students were released without charge. Instead of offering an apology, the students were re-arrested for deportation and are held in various category prisons including some in Strangeways Manchester, others in Belmarsh.

We need to ensure that we confront this injustice and ensure students are released and allowed to continue their studies in this country.

To this end a national campaign was launched last weekend in Manchester where most of the students were arrested form. Members of the families spoke to the campaign meeting and urged that their sons be released from prison and allowed to complete their education.

We have organised a Planning meeting for the 20th May 7.30 pm at Carrs Lane for details see the link below.

Please ensure as many people attend to help stop the deportations. Ensure your community, political, or work organisations and trade unions are represented in the planning of the campaign.

Thanks.

What if

19.05.2009 02:16

What if the evidence against them is in the form of 'phone intercepts so can't be used in court? Is there anything to say otherwise?

Surely, you're concerned, and to be honest, who won't be of these dodgy Pakis - making bombs from the chapati flour, filling baby bottles with liquid explosives and, now, in this case, taking pictures of the gay clubs. Albeit, sadly, thrust of your argument is plain incorrect - evidence from phone intercepts CAN be used in getting conviction. You probably remember Soham killer Ian Huntley (unlike these Pakis who all look transparently alike); he was convicted on the basis of calls he made from his mobile to his girlfriend Maxine Carr (besides other evidence).

Nevertheless, with slight twist, our leader - Mr Griffin (or Mr Brown or Mr Cameron), friends and sympathisers, open and closet-case, rough and genteel, will use this and all other cases in which darkies were racially profiled, humiliated, harassased, exploited, tortured, and oppressed to spread the truth about them, no?

Fellow lyncher

Not according to that

According to that ppt, intercept evidence against Huntley was only valid because it was made from custody.

Would you mind not projecting xenophobia onto me, it is an honest question.

Convenietly you glossed over several conditions in which exception can be made in presenting evidence of phone intercept to acquire a conviction. Sadly, again, the government experts didn't find anything but pictures of cathedrals, churches, tourist spots, and yes... gay clubs, which must be a novelty seen from the eyes of these philstine peasents, and this should suffice to conclude that these homophobic muslims were planning attacks on the clubs. Please allow me copy and paste the here from the original document for the benefit of the fellow pakis, niggers, darkies and other anti-racist friends.

thanks.

ps: how dare I imply that you - member of a glorious race, empire and citizen of god's own country can be racist, it's I, the myopic bastard from the pits of humanity, who cannot comprehend the prudence of your infinite wisdom, in which our countries and people are being killed and plundered for centuries, no doubt, for our own benefit. My sincerest apologies Sahib !!

The ban on intercept evidence
Number of exceptions to intercept ban include:

# Intercept made with knowledge of one party
# Recordings of telephone calls made via bugging rather than direct interception
# Intercepts made outside the UK
# Intercepts of calls to or from a prison or mental hospital (e.g. the Soham murders)
