Banned Nottingham City Council Report now online!

Nottingham City Council wasted £30,000 on a highly-critical report into internal problems and personality clashes. Its conclusion? "Put simply, the council is dysfunctional". No wonder they don't want you to read it! This new council-monitoring blog by a Nottingham green activist includes a link to the file-sharing site where the full report can be found, for all to see and share. THAT'S democracy!
The controversial report, by Hardmoor Associates, is based on one-to-one and group interviews with council workers. It reveals massive problems within Nottingham City Council, problems which are being hidden behind a huge (and very expensive) feel-good advertising campaign.
Nottingham residents are used to the slogans 'We're on your side!' and 'Cleaner, safer, ambitious.' But quotes from the report, marked 'Strictly private and confidential', reveal a very different picture:
"Where's the visibility of senior managers in the council and in the community?"
"We don't actually change, just talk about it."
"Complaints are not taken seriously, they're not logged or recorded, we're not a listening organisation."
"Project management support is bloody awful."
"... creativity is stifled, you get into trouble for coming up with ideas, a real silo mentality."
"A total lack of understanding of who the customer is."
and "... insummountable barriers to getting rid of poor performers."
