People felt it necessary to hold this event, extra to the usual gathering outside the industrial unit [Unit 3, Easter Park Industrial Estate, Lenton Lane. Nottingham NG7 PX.] since they didn't feel those protests were getting sufficient local press exposure. Hence, taking the issue direct to larger numbers in the city centre themselves.
Having watched peoples interaction there, it seemed to me people were genuinely amazed that this company operated here in Nottingham. It was news to so many.
Later in the afternoon, people held the traditional monthly protest outside the Lenton factory. [regular 2nd Monday of the month]. This event included comedian Mark Thomas who, while appearing at the Nottingham Playhouse, came out to support the campaign.
If you interested, the next one will be on Monday 8th June at 12.30 in the Market Square.
