A year of protest against Starbucks in St. James Street, Brighton

Despite a disappointing turn out there was the usual plethora of classic Kemptown moments during the first anniversary protest against "Dodgy Starbucks" in Brighton's St. James Street.

There was fun and games at a demonstration in Brighton yesterday to mark the first anniversary of weekly protests against Starbucks who have been trading illegally and continue to sell their coffee flavoured beverages despite being refused planning permission and being issued with enforcement notices.

There was an hilarious impromptu performance from a local man (unfortunately not all caught on the attached video).

Brighton's favourite AC/DC/PC Sean ("it's a fair cop") McDonald also provided a classic 'Ronald Reagan' moment by prompting a fellow officer (oh bless - he's only twelve) who was slightly lost for words.

And if that wasn't enough local pay-as-you-go, over-the-top and over-the-hill sex worker 'Letitia' was, as ever, seeking attention - no doubt still waiting for her big break on Channel Four.

You couldn't make it up...unless you worked for a tabloid.
