Barclays profits jump by 15 per cent despite large rise in bad debts

Profits at Barclays leapt 15 per cent in the first three months of the year, despite a significant rise in bad debts, with one analyst calling it potentially "the best quarter" the bank has ever had.

Bank plans to pay a dividend in the last quarter.

Gonna need bigger protests!

No doubt demos at Barclays will continue, the more the merrier. Since SHAC began most demos have actually been just a handful of people, small, effective and quick. My opinion is so what if Barclays profits are up? Business as usual methinks. Interestingly the nasty little anti SHAC website (who hardly get any hits hah hah) got all excited about this probably still a bit upset that their pals in NETCU and Lincolnshire police were made fools of in Lincoln Crown Court.
