Sunny Delight

Eric | 07.05.2009 16:09 | Smash EDO | Anti-militarism | South Coast

Sergeant Sunshine has been entertaining the troops again.

For the serious crime of 'back kicking' the EDO fence a few times with his soft-soled trainers a certain PS Ray Avery arrested a protester and gave us yet another 'sunshine moment'.

Unfortunately for Sussex Police a BBC film crew arrived at that very moment and witnessed the whole thing. Hopefully they caught it all on tape including the gratuitous and petty assault on another protester which can be seen on the attached video. We'll find out when it's shown on the BBC Politics Show this Sunday (though I'm not holding my breath).

The arrestee was dearrested after about half an hour once he'd given his details (not that he had to). Would have been lovely for it to go to court though.

Just when Wednesdays were getting dull.

A better Video

Here's a slightly better video (I hope). The original was a bit small and seemed to not play in all browsers.

I think the point is though that you actually WANT the police to give you a hard time. If the police didn't arrest anyone it would be a bad day. If they arrest 10 people and you get it all on camera then its a very good day.
