Cleaning Barbara Follett's Windows

So unless you've just come back from a far, far away land where politicians aren't self-serving careerists who line their own pockets with public money, you'll have heard about the latest slew of expenses scandals. One MP tried to claim for a Sauna, David Milliband wants a private jet and Baroness Uddin, a Labour peer appointed by Tony, has claimed about £100,000 in parliamentary expenses on a flat in Kent that neighbours say has been unoccupied and unfurnished for years.

Perhaps Uddin was a bit hard up and decided she should have a little help from the British public. The same cannot be said of Barbara Follet, MP for Stevenage and wife of millionaire novelist Ken Follett, who lives in a mansion on Cheyne Walk in Chelsea - one of London's poshest addresses. Barbara claimed around £1600 between 2003-2004 for having her windows cleaned every three weeks at £94 a time.

Worried that Barbara might claim more of our hard earned money on the up-keep of her Chelsea mansion, we decided to clean her windows for free. In fact, Don't Panic would like to officially offer to clean Barbara's windows as often as she wants so that she has no more excuses for spending our money on unnecessary extravagances.
