A UKIP poster came under siege last night as angry residents showed their discontent.

A UKIP poster off Princess Rd opposite ASDA was paint bombed.

Well maybe it made the paint-flinger feel better, but is it going to dissuade anyone from voting UKIP?

Not that UKIP are expected to get many votes.

Whodunnit?

Looks like it was probably a homeward-bound drunk, but it might have been some jerk from the BNP. They hate UKIP for denying them the hardcore eurosceptic vote, and they're getting scared that UKIP are gonna thrash them again at the Euro Elections.

opposition is manifested in many ways. If people dont like the messages being portrayed in their local area then its good that they demonstrate this resistance. UKIP are filth. Its good to see people visibly opposing this. Right wing propoganda needs to be sabotaged.

in response to the previous poster, you should never underestimate the power of the symbolic act. subvertising is a great way to fight back against the monoculture ... one trashed advert can been seen by thousands of people

nice action!

that the UKIP vote on June 4th is going to collapse, mostly benefitting the BNP. Stand by for a dozen democratically elected BNP MEPs, witht e party being generously funded by the EU.

A SuperSoaker (copyright) or generic waterpistol works with dilute, filtered paint, perfect for billboards. Bill boards are probably the one ethical use for Super Soaker flame flowers.
I'm bored of billboard drops that don't actually drop the billboard. Does anyone have a photograph of a bus shelter advert key?

yes he's in glasgow but the RSPCA have to put up with evil mindless animal murderers everyday over the country and they get away with it.

paint on a poster is on thing. burning the animal murders house is so much better...

Cat torturer

Here is a better photo of him-

He lives in Clarkston but you could meet him before court tommorow. To be honest, he looks and sounds like he has serious mental problems. I think the local cat owners and the local parents will be making his subsequent life hellish anyway, whatever we or the judge do. This guy is heading for a hospital with bars on the windows.

What is wrong with paintballing a poster...UKIP are no good people and it is an action. So what if it may have no affect - you could say that about many actions...

As for bringing in an animal rights issue into it, then I don't know where you are coming from. You could argue that there are other actions people should concentrate on other than cat-killing such as arms trade, climate change, de-forestation, you name it really. Let people focus on what they wish to in ways that they feel so inclined.

It's ineffectual. Paint ball guns are expensive and don't spread a lot of paint around. You would be far better throwing a can of paint if you don't have a water pistol. I'm not saying paint ball guns are totally useless, just not the best tool for the job. Have you tried firing other stuff with it? Can a paintball be refilled with other fluids and still be successfully fired?
