Has anyoneone looked into the number of indipendant media sources in the Tamil held area, or is the total news blackout and suppresion by the tamils going to go unanswered.

Nothing moves in that area without them knowing about it, you cant even carry a notebook without getting it taken off you.

Two sides to a story not just the popular one. If you question the question everyone.

The Sri lankan operation to keep media journalists out of the north is already well documented. The operation follows exactly the same logic as that which unfolded in Iraq, Afghanistan, Gaza and now north Sri Lanka.

If you are going to cause mass loss of life then you are hardly going to allow independent journalists in to record it all.

The Sri Lankan operation unfolded in exactly the same way as other operations of this type. These operations take advantage of domestic public apathy in politicains and the politicians exploit that ruthlessly (in the UK's case, that was the creation of an apathetic so called Middle class).

The Sri lankans are simply following form. Decide what it is you want to do, get the journalists you don't have control of out of the area and then go in and wipe out your enemy, while at the same time blaming your enemy for everything that happens...because nothing is verifiable.

It isn't hard to understand!
