IPCC Channel Four injunction fails

FTA | 21.04.2009 20:36 | G20 London Summit | Other Press

The IPCC just failed in banning new C4 news from showing new G20 footage.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission - which is questioning a police officer in connection with the death of Mr Tomlinson - sought an injunction preventing fresh pictures of events preceeding Mr Tomlinson's death from being broadcast.

Tonight a judge refused to grant an injunction, and C4 News and More 4 News intend to broadcast the item tomorrow.

The video: "shows moment Ian Tomlinson's head hit the pavement"

22.04.2009 06:21

"The full version of the video handed to the Guardian and the IPCC shows the lead-up to the alleged assault on Tomlinson, including an incident in which a policeman appeared to grab a protester. The protester's head was then hit against the door of a police van. That sparked an angry reaction from the crowd, which began running toward Royal Exchange [Buildings]."

the vague feeling that perhaps someone doesn't want you to see this is created by the fact that clicking on the link takes you to a 15 second trailer for the state of play film, not this video, now we all know that the guardian is a trojan horse, but thats just ridiculous!

Does now

Link does take you to the film now. Probably cock-up rather than conspiracy before.

Unless I've missed something, it doesn't really show anything new, just a different angle, and from greater distance. Can't see why they tried to injunct this, except paranoia and running scared on the part of police and PCC (no "I" any more, they've lost their "I").

Many defensive smears and dirty tricks to come, no doubt.

Fuck the Free Press they are socialist scum

Surely the press should be curtailed to some degree? The Guardian is currently out of control and needs to be dealt with properly. Lets hope the intelligence agencies are keeping tabs on the journalists for when a RIGHT minded government comes to power.

The ‘rare’ images that have been shown on tonight’s channel 4 news appear to show the police heavily out numbered by these “violent protesters” which is an affirmation of the footage that the BBC has aired this week. This again showing our poor police being shoved around by riotous anarchists’ hell bent on killing officers and destroying property.

Tonight’s footage also shows an unprotected officer being punched by a rioter, so how can Joe public be critical when in the heat of the moment and under extreme danger the police hit out and loose control?

So we have all the evidence we need to show that there is not a strategic policy of TSG controllers to beat anyone in their path but rather just and understandable and expected reaction that again unfortunately resulted in the death of a bystander.

We should praise the police for their indiscriminate violence after all that is what they are trained for.

The media and their controllers are having a police thuggery flush through. Lets have it all out in the open. Perhaps we can look forward to a ‘only following orders’ scapegoat and a Full Public Enquiry- what ever that means,

Don’t worry there is no need to panic good old Joe Public is so fickle and has the attention span of a 3 year old child so soon all forgotten and back to normal oppression …. Meanwhile lets all focus on how difficult it is to police ‘riots’ so we agree the police must need new powers.
