G20: another version of the truth

http://underclassrising.net/ | 20.04.2009 15:27

This is an attempt to compile a comprehensive narrative about the situation around Royal Exchange when Ian Tomlinson was assaulted, and subsequent events, referenced to photos, videos and eyewitness accounts. It is still very much a work in progress, and will be updated frequently as additional material is located.

In the early evening of April 1st, on Lombard Street , where  http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2368505.ece?OTC-RSS&ATTR=NewsRoss Hardy and another  http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2009/apr/17/ian-tomlinson-new-pictures-g20unnamed photographertook pictures of Ian Tomlinson outside Gym Box (reported as 7:10 pm), cops are clearing the street, and  http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=davehighbury&view=videosbased on later videossome of those present end up on Cornhill. Nearby on Cornhill a group of British Transport Police (BTP) and Met  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Police_Support_Unit_%28UK%29Level 2ssplit the crowd arbitrarily into ‘protesters’ and ‘onlookers’. Present at this point are City of London Police Chief Superintendent  http://www.cityoflondon.police.uk/CityPolice/About/OurPeople/ManagementBoard/alexrobertson.htmAlex Robertson(CSAR -  http://pa.photoshelter.com/gallery-img-show?P_ID=&_bqG=3&_bqH=eJwLjff2CDWKCvRKy00Od44qDS0tjMozL8sPLfW1MrEyMrWyco_3dLF1NwACz.AqE8eceJ.CZF81d894d0cfH9egSGzSAJgMGmw-&GI_IMAGE_ID=I0000asZsC5FtFBobronze commanderfor Operation Glencoe), a Chief Inspector from Sussex Police (KBCI - apparently  http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2008/03/393585.htmlCI Millsof EDO infamy), and several FIT officers of interest (F1 - EK127 PC Alan Palfrey, F3, & F4). Minutes later some of the FIT have moved from Cornhill to Threadneedle Street. Present are police dogs, Officer A, F3, F4, and a midranking City officer carrying a blue folder (CPblue). links as references?

I applaud what you are trying to do, but what you have here is more a pile of links than a narrative.

How about actually constructing a narrative and using the links as references?

The original version...

The original version of this article -  http://www.lasthours.org.uk/news/g20-another-version-of-the-truth/ - does just that, so you might want to visit there? Not sure why but the version that's been copied across here to Indymedia is seriously truncated.

Plagiarism and the bandwagon

Yes, underclassrising frequently resort to plagiarism, nothing new there. Can't help but wonder why they are jumping on the G20 bandwagon at this late stage after slagging off all those who organised and participated as being middle class liberals. Assuming underclassrising weren't complete hypocrites and stayed away themselves after encouraging others to, it seems strange that they want to write so much about it now as if they were somehow involved.
