We are taking to the streets to express our compassion with the family of
Ian Tomlinson who tragically died during the 1 April protests at the Bank
of England. We are calling for an independent public inquiry into the
instances of police violence that occurred thoughout the week and to
establish the true circumstances of his death.

Against Police brutality- Saturday 11th April-

WHEN: This Sat the 11th of April...11am

WHERE: From Bethnal Green Police station to Bank

Over the last week across London there has been a series of demonstrations
and protests against the policies and programs implemented by the G20
leaders.

We are taking to the streets to express our compassion with the family of
Ian Tomlinson who tragically died during the 1 April protests at the Bank
of England. We are calling for an independent public inquiry into the
instances of police violence that occurred thoughout the week and to
establish the true circumstances of his death.

We wish to communicate our disgust and anger at the violent and brutal
policing of the G20 demonstrations.

The press once again created an atmosphere of fear and violence in the
lead up to the protests, preemptively justifying the police violence that
occurred. They also misreported and lied about the circumstances of the
tragedy. We recognise that for many communities the reality of police
violence is a daily occurrence. The demonisation of communities, like the
demonisation of protesters makes police violence seem normal.

As the crisis deepens and continues there will be increased resistance -
from factory occupations to demonstrations, strikes and people coming
together on the streets. We need to speak out now to defend our freedom to
protest, our communities and our dignity.

terror raids and ian tomlinson

the death of ian tomlinson is a sad thing. the brutality of the cops is a well known fact and needs resisting. after all, whether or not they contributed to ian's death, they have been beating and hurting us and our allies for far too long and its plain wrong.
however it does sadden me the amount of attention this incident is getting from us in comparison to the apathy about the terror raids.
an 18 year old kid has just been handed over to the "border police" by the "terror police" according to the bbc. all of these guys will have been beaten and abused by now, even beyond the abuse that the raid inherently entails. with no trial and skant evidence, as per the other thousands snatched in the night under terror laws.
every "foreign" student in britain now needs to worry about whether their student visas will be withdrawn, and anyone in the world hoping to come study here now has to accept that student visas are being seen as the "terrorist's loophole".
muslims and all those with browner skin than the queen, are under threat on a daily basis in britain.
until we link up with them and start giving a shit about people beyond our little white skinned clique we will never defeat the brutal ones.
