Workers at the Visteon factory on Morston Road in Enfield are occupying their factory after being sacked with no notice on Tuesday without details of any redundancy payments and payment for two days work.

Some of the sacked workers had been working at the plant for around 40 years. Current negotiations being undertaken by Unison/Unite are focussed at securing meaningful redundancy terms.

Some more security turned up today who were initially feared to be bailiffs. The occupiers are also attempting to use section 6 squatters rights.

The occupiers remain in high spirits and are being joined every day by other workers at the plant and supporters. All expressions of support and solidarity are very much appreciated.

A demonstration has been called for tomorrow (Saturday 3rd April) at 11am by the occupiers and the Unite union in support of justice for the sacked factory workers and the occupation. Nearest train station is Ponders End approx. 15 mins from Liverpool Street.
