Possible agent provocateur at G20 protests

mixmatosis | 03.04.2009 11:43 | G20 London Summit

A video of suspected 'bloodied' agent provocateur at G20 protests.

The guy in question is at the front of the crowd, wearing a black top and white shirt. He kicks a copper to the floor and later moves to the front again to goad the police.

Halfway through the video, the commentator even remarks that he didn't know how the 'protester' had received his injury as the police hadn't drew their batons by that time, he very quickly backtracks...

This isn't a genuine article. I think it is intended to distract from the facts. There is no way to know if this man in the video is a police agent, an innocent suffering from head trauma, or a genuine protestor sanely expressing his anger.

Agree with Danny

agree with danny.

What does it matter? And who benefits most that we waste time talking about a prima donna bleeding through his 15 minutes of fame rather than the murder of a man by police?

There are so many images of this guy out there on the web. With the last of them showing this guy under arrest and being loaded into a police van, it would be intresting to know who he is what he was charged with if he ever ends up in court and what the outcome is. In some of the pictures of him the so called blood on his head seems to look a bit fake. Could be intresting to keep an eye on this and see if he disappears of the radar.

Definately Not

police were swinging batons the whole time. Don't beleive everything you hear in the news. I saw him stand up to the cops myself, why are the bravest people accused of being provocateurs?. We were being illegally detained and trying to fight our way out.

Snitching - this should be taken down

03.04.2009 14:14

I can't believe this post is allowed to stay up. It looks highly likely this person isn't an agent provocateur, in which case this post is just someone acting as a snitch and a grass. Maybe it was posted by a cop or mainstream journalist just seeking to get people into trouble?

They say "he kicks a copper to the floor" - that statement could get an innocent person into some serious trouble if it gives the filth ideas for a stitch-up.

I think the conspiracy-minded snitch that posted this article needs to be hit round the head with a clue-by-four.

The bleeding on his head doesn't have to be from the cops - it could have been a badly-aimed missile thrown from the back of the crowd.

We should have 100% solidarity with everyone arrested, no matter what they are accused of, just like what happened with the Trafalgar Square Defendants Campaign after the Poll Tax Riots.

the guy in the video has had his face plastered all over yesterdays newspapers (the guy with blood pissing down his face), so I doubt the video will incriminate him anymore. The police want protesters to be violent, that way they can clamp down on us even more. If he is legit, he's doing the governments job for them.

mixmatosis seems well dodgy

Look at the language of the opening post.

Rather than saying "police out of control lashing out at anyone and everyone in an orgy of coke-fuelled state sanctioned violence" we get a commentary of what our man is supposed to have done.

Whoever this "mixmatosis" he's certainly not on our side. Seriously fucking confused.

definitely not

i was there at exactly this point from the other side of the other police line and had a perfect view and this guy was not 'directing' or anything. he was just repeatedly standing up to the police batons. seriously editors - take this down. it doesn't help this person one bit.

the narrative on the sky news is complete nonsense, desperately looking to put their reactionary narrative on what is happening immediately in front of them. the idea that the crowd needed a 'ring-leader' is bollocks. and this was not the first time the batons had been used. batons were used in response to pushing by the crowd and then the flowing in response, which included this guy visibly standing his ground was a very sane response to the situation.

for all you armchair critics out there. don't think you have any idea of what it was like from watching the media. unless that is you've read chomsky et al thoroughly!!

Just for the record......

Just want to re-assure people that I am not dodgy, nor am I an informer or an undercover agent. That guy's face would have already been uploaded onto the police/government protester database regardless of the video I posted (not that you could see his face anyway). Most of london has high res cctv, some with intelligent tracking technology, so it wont make any difference whether a FIT officer takes video of you or not.

I was simply asking for opinions on what I thought was dodgy behaviour by the protester, hence the 'possible' in the title. Chill out people ffs

nar, definitely dodgy pal

03.04.2009 17:04

point is sunshine, you don't focus on the tooled up coppers extremely well protected kicking the shit out of penned-in people (and killing someone in the process) you choose to focus on one young man and his particular mode of behaviour as if that was somehow crucial to the policing operation or the way events unfolded.

You're one dodgy fuck.
