Police Raid at Earl Street G20 Convergence Centre

Police raided a peaceful occupation of the G20 convergence space in East London.

As people were organising to leave the convergence space at mid day today police raided. 30-40 people attempted to protect the space by blockaiding the main doors. We then congregated on the top floor and sat in a circle with our arms in the air to show the police that we were not violent. However, the police met us with a taser gun, full riot gear and proceeded to make us lie face down with our hands on the floor.

We believe two people were arrested, although we are unsure what they have been charged with. One has been taken to hospital following an injury. The rest were searched, handcuffed and had names, DOB, addresses and photos taken.

I think one of the guys arrested is being charged with suspicion of violent disorder but not definet. Not sure about the other guy.

A brief clip on ITV showing protesters with their hands behind their backs with the usual FIT suspect. Nothing more that a bit of shock and awe. Giving the chance for the Police to play with their new toy cars.

I think it more a case of pay back time more than anything else for the cops. A bit childish if you ask me.

One person arrested at the convergence space has been discharged without charges or bail conditions, despite being supposedly accused of violent disorder.

Once again, police attempt to criminalise people for the sake of media attention. Do not believe what you read

ITV embedded camera & TASERS

As far as the police operation concern, they probably needed to justify a 13m+ operation with
a couple of RAIDS the day after the G8... symbolic as symbolic is their new american car,
as dangerous as their new TASERS guns...


At present in Rampart raid there was an ITV embedded journalist inside the operation
with the TSG squad....

Also cops have been entering with their TASER guns on the hands instead of batons...
and in ONE situation in Rampart the gun was used unfortunately( for the bastard cop)
without success in the wall...
