CONVERGENCE CREW | 28.03.2009 05:45 | G20 London Summit | Free Spaces | Globalisation | Social Struggles | World

A building in central London (shoreditch) has been occupied for the anti-G20 mobilisation.

The convergence (and crash) space for all anti-G20 action has been reclaimed and is almost ready for the summer of Rage!

The occupiers haven't got the lecky on yet, but they're safely barricaded deep inside.

Location-
The large ex-pub on the corner of Paul St and Blackall St, EC2A, nearest tube old street.

"Every empire has its end.
The age of international capitalism,
the age of warfare, ecological devastation and wage slavery is drawing to a close.
Change is in the air. It has begun!"

love and rage,

Anybody home?

28.03.2009 11:55

No answer 11am this morning. Are y'all barricaded so deep you can't hear the door? People may be arriving today looking to the space for accomodation. Please report when you'll be opening up.

Re-take Boul Court?

28.03.2009 13:14

Can't anyone reoccupy boul court? It was a fantastic space and seems ideally placed for an asault on the city!!!

Why not just camp in the woods on the outskirts of London.

28.03.2009 19:11

If you are coming from outside London and need somewhere to stay during the duration of the G8 Summit in London then why not just bring a tent and sleeping bag and camp in one of the numerous woodland areas on the outskirts of London then commute in by bus for the actions. If you look at a big map of London you will see that it is ringed by numerous wooded areas most of which are ideal for camping. In the morning simply take your tent down and bring it together with your sleeping back to the climate camp in the city action.

There is also an offical campsite in London at Crystal Palace Park about 7 miles south of central London which is open all year as well as other official campsites further out at Abbey Woods and Epping Forest and Edmonton in the Lea Valley.

Look Elsewhere

30.03.2009 13:00

Anyone looking for crash space/convergence centres should look elsewhere it seems, it doesn't look like this place is open.
Best to ask at extant social centres, Rampart, library house etc... until a proper one emerges.
Maybe camp out on Bishopsgate?

YA B@STA!

there is no convergance

30.03.2009 13:36

at least not at this site. The police are there as i type and it is empty. Still they wasted some time busting into an empty building.

Have fun on the 1st

red herring

Camping

30.03.2009 13:45

Problem with camping at the Carbon Exchange instead of a convergence centre is that there prob won't be anywhere to leave your stuff if you're planning on going to the Excel centre early on Thursday. Harder to run from riot cops when you're carrying a loads of stuff.
