A list of the varied workshops and events Ecoworks are taking part in or organising.

Sat 4th April A Beginners Guide To Growing Your Own Organic Vegetables – all the essentials to get you off to a good start and moving in the right directions.

Sat 11th April Organic Pest and Disease Control – strategies for maximizing the health of your crops, including guidance for making a rotation plan for your vegetable garden.

Sat 18th April A Beginners Guide To Growing Your Own Organic Fruit – a look at the wide variety of fruit that can be grown successfully in the garden or in containers.

Sat 25th April A Beginners Guide To Growing Your Own Organic Vegetables – another chance to learn about all the essentials to get you off to a good start and moving in the right directions.

Sat 2nd May Growing Delicious Fresh Salads All Year Round – put those supermarket salad packs to shame by becoming a grow-your-own salad expert, including delicious leaves you never even see in the shops.

Sat 9th May Growing Vegetables in Containers – top tips for successfully growing a wide range of vegetables and fruit in containers, making the most of spaces such as yards, patios, window ledges and balconies.

Sat 16th May Organic Pest and Disease Control – another chance to learn about strategies for maximizing the health of your crops, including guidance for making a rotation plan for your vegetable garden.

Sun 24th May Heritage Open Day at Hungerhill Allotments – A lovely day out with an extensive range of vegetable plants for sale, short workshops, great food, and tours of this amazing allotment site.

Sun 31st May Green Fair – We will have an extensive range of vegetable plants for sale at this great event in the Arboretum, and the Harvest Café will be serving delicious vegetarian food

There will be a further series of varied workshops running from June through to October including Gardening for Kids, Successful Composting, Seed Saving, Preserving Your Produce, Pruning Fruit Trees and Bushes, Growing Winter Salads, Introduction to Permaculture, and others. Details will appear on our website in May.

All workshops will run from 10am till 2pm at Ecoworks, Hungerhill Allotments, St Ann’s.

In the interests of fairness and accessibility we are going to trial a sliding scale fee system for the 2009 season: Suggested minimum £5; more if you like what Ecoworks does and are in a position to further support our workshop program; £2.00 if you on a low income/benefits.

what to bring.....

We're asking everybody to bring a packed lunch, scruffy clothes or waterproofs, footwear with good tread and a notepad and pen.
