Bush Yes, Galloway No - Canada bars George Galloway from entry

Respect MP George Galloway has been barred from entering Canada to address a forum of Canada's Peace Movement. The Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration cites "national security concerns...

Respect MP George Galloway will not be permitted to enter Canada on grounds of "national security". The powerful pro-Israel lobby is delighted. The barring comes days after former US president George Bush spoke in Calgary over the protests of prominent human rights lawyers who said Canadian law demands 'credible' war crimes suspects be barred or prosecuted.

Galloway called the decision "idiotic" and vows to challenge it.

Please sign a petition to the Government of Canada protesting the banning of George Galloway and demanding he be allowed to speak:

'Poor, poor, poor me another drink' George,

Galloway is a supporter of tough immigration controls and has been publicly critical of groups such as the 'No Borders' network. His vanity project RESPECT notably refused to have a no borders platform.
Now he is the victim of such controls himself he is a little annoyed. He's a hypocrite and cannot have any milk tonight.

Because You're Gorgeous

There was always going to be a cackling contingent of anarchists cheering this disgraceful decision. Grow up people! I disagree with Galloway on plenty of things - and yes he made a prat of himself on BB - but on the war in Iraq, on the war in Afghanistan, and on Western imperialism in general he has been consistently correct. He puts openly biased Sky newsreaders in their place over Israel and the US establishment in their place over militarism.

You may not agree with GG but you should be supporting him here - cheer on this blatant censorship at the peril of progressive activism in general - yours included.
