rampART has been evicted !!! We will take it back !!!

Today just after 1pm a large group of thugs rushed the building, secured all the windows even at the back and took possesion of rampARTS

After recent events we tried to have better security but the owner instructed goons just busted everything down and have fitted steel doors and window covers.

We will be trying to retake the building over the weekend and we ask for as many peeps as possible to join us.

Come along at about 10 in the morning, free tea and great vegan buns for those who get there early !

Don't know who just posted the above message, but no one in Rampart collective knows about this and we are still in occupation of the building. Nothing has happened today.

Can the original poster please verify where they got this information from? And especially that they posted this and are arranging a retaking of the building (that isn't lost) without even checking with the Rampart collective first?

We want more people to help with the occupation rota, so if anyone can do a shift please email us. Thanks

Just walked past to check this and yes there are steel shutters on the doors and windows. There are perhaps five people there now and I spoke with two of them. The owners trained thugs took back the building with very over the top violence and equipment at around lunchtime today. The two people who were inside have both been punched and one of them kicked however both are ok now.

There is a general call out I understand being prepared now that will ask for help in taking back the space over the weekend. In the meantime I will be back tonight to show that we are not downhearted and in just in case some pixies do get back in. :-)

There is a misunderstanding here.

The adjoining flats on Rampart Street have been demolished, but Rampart Social Centre is still standing and is still occupied (which we've confirmed after speaking with our collective members who are inside the building and said that NOTHING happened today--no violence, no thugs).

The collective has had no discussion about retaking the building on Saturday morning as we still have the building.

Despite the detailed and convincing description,the post is totally wrong, we're not evicted, and beyond that, it's also dangerous to spread these kinds of rumours and disinformation. Could the Indymedia crew please remove or hide this post?

And can the original poster please identify where he/she got this information? And we'd also like to know, why have you made a call-out for support without contacting us at all?

Eviction rumours aside, we do still need help with an occupation rota. Please email us if you'd like to help out.
