The death of an actor is news. Perhaps it shouldn't be headline news as it's primarily a personal tragedy, but it is still news. Compare this however to the ridiculous level of coverage of the death of a certain former big brother contestant who, to my knowledge, has never done anything else noteworthy/newsworthy yet has full edition obituaries. Has she actually died?

its in the news because its interesting

why shouldn't it be in the news? Someone famous, dying in a freak accident is news worthy. It would be really weird if it wasn't in the news. Especially if many people who listen/read the news can relate to it. I've hit my head a few times snowboarding so i found it very interesting because I didn't realise people could die from a standing fall.

The news is a business to earn people a living. If you want your own news, start your own media outlet.

Is your comment news or just an opportunity to make an obvious political point in bad taste. Waste of time.
