Vigil at Israeli Embassy Kensington, London, 3-7pm Wednesday

Radjel | 18.03.2009 07:57 | Palestine | Repression | Social Struggles

Vigil today at the Israeli Embassy in support of the peace activist critically injured while observing a demonstration in the West Bank last Friday.

On March 13th, 2009, Tristan Anderson, from Oakland, California was critically wounded in the village of Ni'lin after Israeli forces shot him in the head with a high-powered tear-gas canister. Tristan is a dedicated activist and reporter who has long been committed to social and environmental justice in the U.S. and abroad in places such as Oaxaca, Iraq, and Palestine. Tristan is critically ill in hospital. His shooting is just one of a continual number of both internationals and Palestinians being injured by the IDF as Israel continues to build the illegal wall through Palestinian land, grabbing land and resources for its own use and leaving Palestinians without the means to support themselves. What makes this even more outrageous is that it is not publicised on the BBC - no-one heard last weekend about Tristan, but the BBC widely reported the killing of two Israeli soldiers in the West Bank - we must continue to protest in any way we can against this bias and and continually remind the Israelis that the wider international community knows what they are doing and will not forget. Please come to any part of this vigil if you can.
