Bush to follow Bashir?

BeatingTheBushes | 08.03.2009 22:18 | Globalisation | Iraq | Terror War | World

Former US President George W Bush could possibly stand trial at the International Criminal Court in the Hague, says an ex UN Prosecutor.[ Why wait? Arrest him in Calgary, Canada March 17.]

David Crane, an international law professor at Syracuse University, said similar to the Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, Bush could be an ICC target.

"the principle of law used to issue an arrest warrant for Omar al-Bashir could extend to former US President Bush.."

Unclear on the concept?

You have apparently not noticed the commonality among those who get tried by international tribunals.

Their countries are relatively weak, have been defeated in war, been bombed into submission, or could be.

Don't make a mistake about this. Plenty of us here in the States might want to see Bush tried BY OURSELVES. Plenty more hate his guts intensely, but think that trials following every change of administration would be a very bad idea. The point is that we here would NOT support any international tribunal doing it -- he's OUR a**hole.

Stop being silly suggesting nonsense like "Canada should arrest him" or "Holland should try him". They would lose the resulting conflicts. FIRST you crush us in battle -- THEN you get to try our ex leaders. Not the other way around. Meanwhile, if you want to see Bush on trial, you urge US to do it.
