Camden Lab and Community campaign has a new address in Kings Cross

Stop Camden Animal Lab [Mandy Ford and Dennis "the door"]. | 02.03.2009 13:37 | Animal Liberation | Bio-technology | Social Struggles | South Coast | World

There are plans to build a deadly "super virus" lab in Kings Cross, alongside St Pancras International behind the British Library. this has been opposed by MI5, MPs and councillors on Health and Safety grounds. Foot and Mouth disease was leaked into the water supply from Pirbright in Surrey. Local people want community / education facilities and council homes here with realistic employment opportunites rather than this ill thought out lab project. Please also see the online petition.

Our new address is Stop Camden Animal Lab at c/o 102 Caledonian Road, Kings Cross, London N1 9DN.

Please note that while this campaign is of interest to anti animal testing campaigners that this is a broad based community campaign. Some of our members and supporters are vegetarians and some are not.

Containment levels

If it's a containment level 3 lab, it won't have any "super viruses" in it - those go in containment level 4 labs.

Containment level 3 labs are not that unusual. There are more than 800 of them in Britain, some a stone's throw away from the British Library.

The "MI5 oppose this" stuff comes from an old Evening Standard story. The spooks seemed to have been specifically upset by plans for a containment level 4 lab on the site. If it's now going to be containment level 3, those complaints don't appear valid any more.

This campaign is a good one.

It is a shame it is being taken forward by someone who is unstable and has caused the very animals she proclaims to care about to lose out on funding by slandering people.

She is doing this for her own personal gain to have attention she desires and for people to focus on her and not the real issues.

Be careful with this person running this campaign - she is making a mockery of AR
