Paul O'Toole plays the role of Bono™ in begging for another Corporate Tax Break

'U2's Bono may campaign to end world poverty - but his band are taking advantage of the same tax avoidance schemes in the Republic of Ireland that rob impoverished countries of billions.

Billions drains out of impoverished countries each year because of multi-national companies shifting their profits to avoid tax. We need international action to make everyone pay their fair share.'

Pro Bono?

People might like to know that Bono is a "substantial investor in a private-equity fund, Elevation Partners, which in 2006 bought a 40 per cent stake in Forbes, publisher of the monthly magazine that celebrates, calibrates and ranks the wealth of the plutocracy" according to thinking-woman's man, Robert Peston [p33, Who runs Britain?].

I think Bono's found exactly what he's been looking for...
