ballz | 25.02.2009 00:22 | Anti-racism | Liverpool

The BNP will be holding a meeting in the Manchester town hall at 12 noon.

Since they chickened out of Liverpool lets give them a good send off in Manchester.

Another one bites the dust

The BNP are not having it their own way in the North West. After the humiliating climbdown in Liverpool it now appears that a planned meeting in Manchester has also been disrupted. This afternoon the BNP announced that it was holding a meeting in Manchester Town Hall on Saturday.

However, the meeting had already been cancelled!

We have learnt that a BNP member had indeed made a booking for a committee room on Monday but this was quickly spotted by eagle-eyed council staff.

The very fact that the BNP advertised the venue suggested that this was more a publicity stunt than anything else and by the time the story was posted on the website an alternative venue had been found. However, just to be on the safe side council staff will once again be looking at the booking forms tomorrow morning.

HOPE not hate

Keep the BNP out of Manchester

Protest Outside Manchester Town Hall-Stop the BNP Euro-Election Meeting 28/02/09 12pm

The BNP have announced on their website that they intend to have a meeting addressed by NIck Griffin in Manchester Town Hall this Saturday 28/2/09.

We have called an emergency protest to stop them. There should be no platform for fascist parties like the BNP anywhere in Manchester. We need everyone who is dedicated to opposing fascism and racism to come to Manchester Town Hall, Albert Square on Saturday at 12 o'clock to link arms against the BNP.

Fax and email urgent protests to Richard Leese Leader Manchester City Council Fax: 0161 234 4761 or email at  r.leese@manchester.gov.uk.

What Happened in Liverpool

25.02.2009 01:58

As part of their systematic attempt to impose a culture of hatred and fear on communities that do not want their vile political thuggery, the BNP appear to have initiated their "love fascism, hate football" campaign.

The police have kept the BNP gathering quiet since January (while persecuting other stallholders for having more popular political opinions).

Which might well be because they wished to be even handed after arrests were made for the distribution of racist material.

So really, not a lot happened in Liverpool.

Mit brennender Sorge
