Deptford Town hall (part of Goldmsiths University) in SE London has been under occupation by around 50 students since 12pm today Wednesday 11th February.

Their demands are that the university fuflill it's agreement to provide full scholarsjhips (including travel and board) to 2 Palestinian students a year from the Al Quds university. Goldsmiths has been twinned with Al Quds since 2007.

They entered peacefully and met no resistance. Palestinian flags have been hung from the stairwell alomng with banners and a large black banner reading simply 'OCCUPIED' now adorns the from the the building. And yes, that is a red and bacl flag flying from the flagpole.

Decisions are being taken by a democratic mass vote, including negotiation with the university management; so far the occupiers have seen off one meeting which offered nothing.

Tonight there will be a social from 8PM - all are welcome that don't fuck about.
