Palestine: Voices of Resistance
Saturday 7th March, 2-6pm
Royal Station Hotel, Newcastle (next to Central Station)
An afternoon of speeches, discussion, information and in-depth debate on the situation in Palestine following Israel's attack on Gaza and the history of Palestine and Zionism. With Palestinian activists and eyewitness accounts including:
Manal Masala, Palestinian human rights activist, researcher, and regular contributor to the newspaper Fight Racism! Fight Imperialism! Manal's work has included research into Israeli state racism including land and planning policies. Her current research concerns the historical development of class relations in Palestine
Iyad AlAgha from Gaza, currently studying for a PhD at Durham University
Rocky Al-Samarrai, International Solidarity Movement activist and eyewitness in Hebron, West Bank, in March 2008
Mona Zeidan, Palestinian musician, speaking about Israel's attacks on Palestinian national culture and cultural resistance
