ON Saturday 24th Jan numerous shoppers in Marks and Spencers held up till queues in Marks and Spencers with the questions regarding their concerns about purchasing Israeli Products.
This generated lots of interest in the queues and from other customers and coincided with leafleting of the store. Issues discussed including the use of the militarised occupied section of the West Bank to grow many of the "Israeli" producets with the use of forced palestinian labour and most of the the West Banks water and that buying Israeli products funds the War in Gaza and supports the blockade.
The management of M+S were unable to respond to any of these concerns and suggested that those concerned leave their names andnumbers and someone would get back to them. Then the Police were called and some of the protestors were stopped and searched and threatened with arrest before leaving the store. The police remained in the store for at least an hour after this.
