Lift the blockade - Aid into Gaza! Bath demo - Sat 24th

Following on from a 150 strong demo last weekend, bath Activist Network have called for a follow up demo this saturday. The protest will assemble at 12.30pm @Abbey courtyard, Bath.

This protest will aim to highlight the atrocities that constitute the daily reality for the people of Gaza. Israeli troops may be gone for the time being, but a huge humanitarian crisis has been left behind. Tens of thousands are homeless, under equipped hospitals are failing to cope with the thousands of wounded and vital humanitarian aid to palestine is being blocked by Israel and its corporate co-conspirators. While the recent upsurge in violence was as shocking as it was brutal, the startvation, destitution and inadequade medical provisions are the silent weapons of the Israeli state that continue to take a huge toll in civilian dead.
For these reasons, Bath Activist Network are calling for a protest this Saturday the 24th, meeting at 12.30pm @ Bath abbey courtyard and marching with the message 'Stop the blockade! aid into Gaza!'
The march will be stopping at Lloyds TSB to demand the reinstatment of financial clearing for the Interpal charity, as now more than ever, humanitarian aid needs to be able to flow freely into Palestine. Lloyds recent decision to suspend financial transactions with Interpal has effectivley crippled the charity and prevented a vital humanitarian resource entering Palestine. The Lloyds TSB CEO is (coincidentally) a member of the 'Labour friends of Israel' group!
Just because the bombing has temporarily stopped, the war is not over. Join us on saturday to demand justice for the people of Palestine!
