Gaza: the nightmare goes on
Sheffield Palestine Solidarity Campaign | 21.01.2009 10:49 | Palestine | Sheffield
For the moment the bombing has stopped, although we hear that Israeli gunboats continue to shell from the sea and Israeli forces are able to recommence attacks at any moment they choose. The situation for all those inside the Gaza strip remains appalling; the siege has not been lifted and aid convoys continue to be impeded by Israel. More evidence of Israeli war crimes is being uncovered every hour and the response of our Government remains hopelessly inadequate. The lesson to Israel, from most of the world's governments, is that they continue to do whatever they like. Meanwhile there is a growing voice within Israel pleading to the world to support the Palestinian call for sanctions against Israel.
