As the assault by Israel on the civilian population of Gaza continues, thousands gather in Trafalgar Square to continue their protests against the assault.

They listen to speeches given by supporters and then attempt to make their way to the Israeli embassy. A large police operation unfolds blocking all Eastern, Western and Southern exits from the Square but a large body of marchers swells and they successfully make it out of the Square using the Northern exit and walk through the streets largely un-policed.

The group make it to Shaftesbury Avenue where they are kettled into three groups. The kettled marchers are held for several hours.

Despite this, and despite a large police operation, the protest at the Israeli embassy continues.
