An awesome list of events campaigning came out of tonight's Nottingham Animal Rights meeting at the Sumac Centre...
Saturday 17th January
Veggies Campaign Catering in support of Gaza protest in Market Square.
10am at Sumac; 10.30 on The Forest, or 11.30 in the Square

Monday 19th
National Anti-Vivisection Day of Action. Noon opposite M&S, St Peters Gate.
In solidarity with SHAC campaigners in court on this day for
sentencing (and all other animal rights prisoners).

Tuesday 20th - Foie Gras Campaign
Aims to get Nottm City Council to implement a policy opposed to foie gras, similar to that in York and Norwich.
- join us collecting signatures from 12noon in the Market Square.
Everyone is asked to contact their own city councillor to test their opinions on foie gras. See list of local councillors at

Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd - Fur campaign
'Cow' vintage clothing shop, George St, Hockley is selling second hand fur, thus perpetuating the supposed 'glamour' of fur.
- meet at noon at Market Square to walk to Cow.
Wednesday 21st - Foie Gras Campaign
Tesco are selling Foie Gras in Hungary, (see

Use this as an opportunity to raise the issue towards a council ban.
Join us 6-8pm at Tesco Angel Row (near Alley Cafe).
- after the Tesco's picket, or at your leisure at other times, visit Jamcafe, a new cafe in Hockley is reported to be 70-80% veggie, to report back at the next meeting. See

This is a protest in the heart of London and at the heart of animal abuse. Without the trading of Huntingdon Life Sciences' stocks and shares, and without shareholders, HLS would cease to exist. Please start booking time off work and write this important date into your diaries!
