UK Libertarian Party: ex-BNP members in disguise?

Antifa Libertarian | 13.01.2009 12:48 | Analysis | Anti-racism | Migration

It's a year since the creation of the "UK Libertarian Party", a falsely titled group if there ever was one!

With the discredited BNP losing members faster than a sinking ship it's no wonder new small right wing groups are emerging out of the quagmire. Desperately trying to distance themselves from the more unpalatable elements of the BNP's rhetoric in order to gain some much need credibility.

However they can't ditch the old racism it seems.

Real Libertarians should be calling out these scum for what they are!

Here is an excellent new article examining their 'libertarian' credentials (or lack thereof):

Here's hoping other Libertarians like give them the shit they deserve!

More likely ex-UKIP

Or even fans of the US Republican senator Ron Paul, by the looks of it anyway. Not that he's a real libertarian either mind you, he's got some pretty racist authoritarian views about foreigners too.

I'll mark them down as closet racists in denial rather than nazi skinheads in wigs for now.

BNP?

It's worth pointing out that the linked article makes no attempt to connect the Libertarian Party with the BNP. Sure they have dodgy inconsistent politics which should be challenged, but that doesn't mean they're fascists. As (A)ntifa notes they're more likel to be ex-UKIP types. (A quick survey of the sites linked from their Party \members' blog doesn't turn up any fash blogs, another indication).

Curious

to clarify

As has already been pointed out, we do not claim that the UK Libertarian party are fascists or racists, just that their immigration policy is authoritarian.

Beyond that we have not done any research, we have not speculated about the background of their membership, if anyone has done any research on the party in that area, we'd be most interested.
