Brighton anti-Gaza war march

In a show of solidarity with the suffering of Gazans, around 1,300 local residents marched in Brighton today. Called by the local Palestinian community the march started at Palmeira Square, proceeded down one lane of Western Rd to the Old Steine and finished on the seafromt by the pier.
As last week there were speeches by Palestinians and local activists and George Galloway turned up at the end after most people had left.
There was a low key police presence (26 according to the BBC), although the senior officer was seen to get flustered at one point, no doubt looking for some petty excuse to hassle one of the organisers.
This highlights the massive over-policing and surveillance of marches in Brighton against Israel's bombardment of Lebanon and anti-arms trade marches where hundreds of police have turned up for as many protesters.

Who ever needed police to facilitate a peaceful protest? Scary living in a country where the police think they need to be informed of every bit of dissent.
