Low cost veg in Lenton and Dunkirk

Fiona Corbett | 08.01.2009 13:58 | Education | Health

This community project offers people a large carrier bag of seasonal veg for just £3, sold weekly at 2 community centres by volunteers.

Small Steps Food project runs on a Wednesday at:
The Lenton Centre, Willoughby Street 12-2pm
Dunkirk Community Centre 12-2pm

We sell seasonal veg in bags for £3.

An example bag from this week:
One large cabbage
Three large onions
10 potatoes
2 large parsnips
6 carrots
1 swede.

We include a recipe in the bags.

We welcome volunteers to help flyer the area, and are hoping to form a steering group to help the organisation develop. We would like to offer fruit, and possibly other kinds of food. If you would like to be involved or buy a bag come and see us on a Wednesday or phone Fiona on 941 9525.
