Comparisons

"Ramallah is not Auschwitz. Israel is not the Third Reich. We have no death camps and we haven't massacred one third of the Palestinian population in gas chambers. Therefore, everything we do is quite all right. We may fill the occupied territories with tear gas and blood, we may kill and injure and torture and blackmail and dispossess, we may surround millions by electric fences and tanks in tiny enclaves, we may hold them under siege and daily bombing, we may make pregnant women walk to hospitals, and we shoot ambulances too, don't we. But as long as we fall even an inch short of the atrocities of Nazi Germany, it's all fine and good, and don't you dare make the comparison."

are you being ironic?

i'm not sure if you're being ironic here, call me an idiot or gullible, but in response to proposition that israel isn't currently acting like the third reich in some senses you could have fooled me! rather than the third reich, israel's current actions remind me of the actions and moral justification of the child abuser or the wife beater. with one hand i give you some food, fuel, support, but only after i have smacked you in the face, raped you etc. it is a deeply morally repugnant approach to morality, and it enfuriates me when people refuse to take sides in this context. we take sides when a child is abused, a woman is raped a person is mugged or abused, no matter whether we agree with the historical actions of the abused/raped/attacked, so as israel abuses/rapes/attacks the palestinian people how can we not take sides. i don't know i am really fed up with this, what i've just said is really just stating the bleeding obvious and i apologise for that. its difficult not to start hating jews and zionists at this time, a real challenge to not resort to anti-semitism, it must be a challenge to all compassionate, decent people throughout the world, no where near the tiniest fraction of the challenge facing the good people of gaza (and the west bank), but a challenge nonetheless. does anyone have any tips about doing direct actions which are directly focused on reminding zionists and israel supportive jews that not everyone has fallen for the israeli lobby and media machine's rubbish, but that aren't anti-semitic?
