On Sunday thousands of mostly Palestinian demonstrators brought one of London's poshest shopping streets to a standstill as anger about the bombing of Gaza by the Israeli airforce killed hundreds.

By the way...

Like Lebanon Gaza does not have any defense against attack from the air.

Like it or lump it, Hamas was democratically elected by the Palestinian people.

The rocket attacks on Israel causes huge disruption on one small area but are little more than a symbolic gesture of defiance.

The four Israelis killed by Hamas rockets happened SINCE the bombing of Gaza started when Hamas began increasing its attacks.

Meanwhile the media gives EQUAL coverage to the attacks on both sides. Despite 1 Israeli dying for every 92 (latest figures) Palestinians.

With the blockade (which costs hundreds of lives) Gaza is little more than an enormous prison for over 1,000,000 people. Hamas honoured the ceasefire for six months while watching their people starve.

Is it any wonder that they decided to rattle the cage?

Once upon a time Israel funded Hamas as way of dividing Palestinian anger and undermining Yasser Arafat. Did they forget to mention that on News At Ten?

With so many people squashed into such a small pen...

Luckily for the very outnumbered cops at the gates...

...not intersted in violent confrontation.

Though there is the odd skirmish.

Hezbollah are unsurprisingly quite popular with this lot.

The Police constantly call for backup as the numbers swell.

...and have their usual calming effect on the proceedings.

...so the scuffles continue...

...as the protest is gradually pushed back from the embassy...

..where the protest continues to block the road.

Prayers for the dead in Gaza.

The cops start attempting to disperse the crowd...

...which takes ages...

...as the protesters remain defiant to the end.

Today on the news the Israelis were refusing to listen to an international call for a 48 hour ceasefire to allow humanitarian aid. They seem decidedly nervous about the idea of a ground war, preferring instead to bomb defenseless people from the air. Not surprising when you consider how badly they got their arses kicked in Lebanon in 2006. Even the BBC are openly reporting that Israel's international position is being severely weakened while Hamas has never been stronger.

According to some report Hamas refuse to continue the ceasefire for six months even when offered by Israel, this by giving them a pretext to lunch bombing raids and also .. during that time of "ceasefire" rocket periodically continues to be fired during that period. Maybe that report is wrong too. Correct me please.

The homemade rockets being fired from Gaza are not an effective military weapon. The rationalle behind using them is mostly psychological, as the rockets have little capability of causing any signifigant damage or loss of life (unlike 2000lb bunker buster bombs or the sort used by the Israeli Air Force on Gaza City). The desired effect of the rocket attacks is to make the Israeli citizens in their range feel insecure, the rationale behind this being that if the Palestinian civillian cannot have any security, then why should the Israeli?

Well because of this psychologic effects of these rockets, Gaza is getting bomb, thanks to a few idiots who seem to think it's the way forward. It's just giving Isreal an excuse to do so. What next? Hijack planes and bomb trains for the "psychologic affect they you trying to seek? Where will it stop? In your own home family and friends? Will you then then you will stop supporting people killing each other?

Someone got to take the initiative... not firing willing nilly rockets into someone poor person bedroom. I never seen or heard such a stupid war, it's fu*king ridiculous.

If Israel stops bombing Gaza then the rocket attacks will stop - simple! The ceasefire was broken by ISRAEL not Palestine, got it! Israel broke the ceasefire by assassinating 4 Hamas workers, so what do you then expect Hamas to do? Do you expect them to renew the ceasefire while Israel assassinates its employees? Hamas never broke the ceasefire once, Israel did, they should be ashamed for what they are doing and you should be as well for supporting them.
