Protest Tomorrow - London Israeli Embassy

palestine solidarity | 30.12.2008 20:05

A call out for supporters to come to the demonstration outside the Israeli embassy tomorrow which is scheduled 2 - 4 pm - and stay later!

The demonstrations outside the Israeli embassy on Sunday and Monday afternoons were large, militant and angry. They took the street even though on Monday the police were over prepared and had horses parading up and down.

However this week the solidarity demonstrations have been called for 2 -4 pm (rather then 4 -6 as it was on Monday)_ - a time when many people who want to come may be at work. Less people came today, possibly because of this bad timing and a crowd of youth stayed behind after the organisers asked people to leave promptly at four.

So - it seems to make sense for people to come down later even if you can't make it for two
and to stay later to support the mostly young people that are willing to confront the police even if its in a small group.

Free Palestine! End the Siege of Gaza!

I would estimate 200-300 at today's demo, which was peaceful except when the cops stole a couple of Islamic flags. An organiser tried to dampen youthful spirits by telling those at the front not to behave like 'hooligans' and a police photograher got excited as a flag got burnt - I didn't see which one.
