No much of a demo

100 people in Scotalnd's capital. The message is clear - most people either don't care very much about this issue or support Israel defending itself. Nice to see people exercising their right to protest though, a right that is rare in the midle east, except in Israel of course, the only civilised, developed and democratic country in the whole region.

Do the 'liberals' who whine about injustice to 'Palestinians' all the time really want the whole of the middle east to be as backward as the Arab part? At least Israel is a haven of modern thinking on things like gay and womens rights, and if Israel disappeared from the maps things would be a lot worse for a lot more people.

Now over 325 Palestinians dead, over 1,000 wounded, and Pete's cracking jokes!

Pete (29.12.2008 10:34): "...Israel of course, the only civilised...country in the whole region."

(And, Pete, you really think that Zionist Israel is ever going to be a safe haven for Israel's Jews -- who largely came from *Europe* and later from the U.S. -- let alone be "a light unto the nations"?)

Barbarism= Zionism = Racism

What Time and Planet Are You From?

So racism, religious litmus tests, ethnically exclusionary policies and terror are MODERN concepts. In what time and on what planet?

Racist "Israel" is as much a democracy as the Jim Crow American South was or Apartheid South Africa was. A country which ethnically cleanses a majority of its inhabitants and politically disenfranchises the bulk of its residents is in no way, shape or form anything approaching a democracy.

Israel is a sham and a fake, just as you are a sham and a fake.

Free, Free Palestine!

Zionism is Not Judaism

protest has a bad name its negating - its being deconstructed.

Im getting allergic to protest - anyone feel a bit the same. All protest - and this is not a winge.

This doesn't mean i'm not involved - in ways I can be and Ive got too many ideas to implement and not enough time.

The problem is not governments, (or you could add the police, or Israel, or Hamas) its people who protest and continue to obey - Henry David Thoreau

Promote olive tree planting in Palestine to challenge the occupation, this is a way of promoting and enabling civil disobedience - we are doing it and noone's approval is required.
